The Indian airline Jet Airways banned two pilots on Thursday for allegedly rushing out of the cockpit during a flight from London to Mumbai on New Year's Day.
The ongoing internal investigations will clarify the allegations that a male pilot beat up his female colleague during an argument and war of words, said Jet Airways.
According to reports from “Times of Indiaâ€, the female pilot left the cockpit in tears but was later convinced by the flight attendants to return to the cockpit. At one point the male pilot was said to have left the cockpit also thereby leaving the cockpit without any control and unattended, reported the "Times of India".
Jet Airways spoke of a "misunderstanding" between the cockpit crew, which had been "resolved quickly and friendly". The plane with 324 passengers on board safely landed in Mumbai. Nevertheless, the incident was reported to the Indian authorities.
