Nigeria Government NIMC Bullying Nigerians in the Diaspora for National ID Card

The Nigerian National Identity Management Commission, the body in charge of the national identity number wants to enroll Nigerians in the diaspora. The commission goes a step further to threaten Nigerians in the diaspora that without a NIN they cannot renew their passports or take part in national programs and would lose Nigerian phone numbers in their possession. Every Nigerian abroad already has a Nigerian passport and all necessary biometric data on a National Identity Card are already captured before a Nigerian passport is issued so why does NIMC want to recapture the same biometric data again.
